The course in Mosaic Fundamentals at our school is probably the best choice you can make if you want to get acquainted with the craft as closely as possible, spending a minimum of time on it. The main value of the course lies in the richness of practice: the theory is given here exactly as much as possible, which is aimed at revealing the technology of mosaic creation.
During 10 lessons, under the guidance of an experienced tutor you will:
- You will create three full-fledged works
- You will learn how to assemble a mosaic from different materials (glass tiles, natural stone, art glass).
- You will work with all the tools of a mosaic artist
- Learn all the tools that mosaicists use, and get skill to work with the most popular of them;
- Master the three types of mosaic sets
- And put the acquired knowledge into practice;
- Carry out three installations with the use of three different types of glue
- You will be able to frame or frame your mosaics if you want!
Course Program
Block 1
The first block contains the maximum theoretical information and minimum of freedom. Roman set based on the canons: to realize each of them separately is not difficult, but to learn to follow them all at once, you will have to work hard! In general the first stage of the course is extremely intense and very interesting: work with marble has not yet left anyone indifferent, and direct set – is generally a separate story.
Block 2
Creation of the second work is usually much easier for students: firstly, students do not have to follow the canons; secondly, the new material is excitingly colored in contrast to the restrained in this sense marble; thirdly, the way of casting is radically different from that used in the first stage. Nevertheless, even here there is much to learn and work on.
Block 3
The third block is the most creative. Glass is the material with which it is quite difficult to make friends, but it is definitely worth it! So that the enthusiasm to make contact is enough, we specially with each student pick up a sketch that inspires them to feats. The method of typing in this unit is probably the most comfortable. But the installation takes place in several stages.
